Overview:
Woodward Co. is seeking a Landscaping Foreman responsible for leading residential and light commercial landscape projects from layout through final cleanup. This includes both hardscape and softscape work, coordinating materials, and managing a small crew to ensure high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Run small-to-mid-size landscaping jobs from layout to completion
- Supervise a 2–3 person crew onsite
- Install weed fabric, gravel, decorative rock, edging, mulch, sod, fire pits, and small block walls
- Operate skid steers, compactors, and hand tools
- Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and ensure final details meet customer expectations
- Coordinate with the office for scheduling and material orders
Responsibilities
Requirements:
- 2+ years leading landscaping or hardscaping crews
- Comfortable with layout, light grading, and executing plans or verbal design instructions
- Strong leadership skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and ability to get to job sites throughout the Salt Lake Valley
Qualifications
- Lead and manage your team of 2-3 laborers
- Operate heavy machinery, i.e. skid steer, excavator, equipment attachments, diesel truck, gooseneck trailer, dump trailer, etc.
- A “Street smart” person — able to solve problems efficiently and right even without ever doing whatever it is before
- An organized planner
- Must be physically able to do the heavy lifting (80+ LBS) and other general labor duties; Be tolerant of all weather conditions
- You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as our job sites range from Salt Lake, Davis, and Utah Counties
- You must be dependable, on time, and able to work
- Use the latest and greatest equipment i.e. lasers, GPS, tilt rotators, etc. (or the ability to learn)
- Ability to learn, take direction and take correction
- Keep the worksite and your things clean and organized daily
- Follow instructions from your supervisor.
- Have basic math skills, e.g. measurements, slope, pitch, etc.
- CDL (optional, but is a plus)
